Oh, dear.
How can something so well-written be so wanky at the same time?
Nope, not jumping on the “best.story.evah!!!!!” bandwagon. I got these issues with my arthritic knees, you see….

Far from being the answer to life, the universe, and everything, this past week’s adventure threw your intrepid blogger out of the story at approximately 18 minutes to go. Geez louise, the Doctor sure needed a cricket ball!
You realise, right, that I do the pithy openings just in case you can’t be arsed to read the full commentary.

I find I actually appreciated the brief pause at the halfway point of the current series. (I count “The Runaway Bride” as the first episode, since it will be shown in the U.S. as such.) It has given me the chance to take a deep breath and reacces the series so far.

Hoo boy! Back to basics, if you ask me! And, as a bonus, an episode (and Confidential) chock full of Federation references. I feel refreshed!

I really hope I’ll have to be researching Life on Mars instead of dealing with a Hollywood Ego. (I don’t think it’s the other one, ’cause I ’spect the wife would have been mentioned in the phone message, too.)
In other news, Alien Entertainment finally has my 12-inch Ten-inch, so I’m off tomorrow to finally collect the big order I placed back at Chicago TARDIS last November. The kid will be particularly happy, because she will finally be able to use a radio-controlled Dalek to scare the kitties.

Yes, yes, of course I’m going to check out Totally Doctor Who, especially with a 10-year-old in the house. The big draw to the kiddie show is supposed to be the animated serial “Infinite Quest.” Like much of the current series, it’s very splunge for me. Yanno, might be a good idea but possibly not, I’m not being indecisive.
Go on, read more. And there’s illos to boot, this time!

” Hey Mister Eurovision song contest man
Would you like to hear my song
Bing Bang Bong
Inky Pinky Parlez-Vous
Wunderbar, oo-la-la
Olé!”
–”Mr. Eurovision”, by Neil Innes
What football couldn’t postpone, apparently Schooch can. The answer to life, the universe, and everything (probably not, but since the episode is called “42,” the phrase was inevitable) has been delayed in order for the Beeb to provide wall to wall to wall to wall coverage of this year’s Eurovision contest. Ah, well. Dem are the breaks.
Oh, and rabid lj fangirl spamming communities demanding everyone email the BBC and bitch? STFU, kthx. They’ve made up their mind– deal!Â
(Am I wrong in thinking that the Eurovision contest is the granddaddy of American Idol? From all that I’ve heard about the contest over the years, there was really only one year that was any good, and that would be the year that Abba won. Ooh, that’s like, what, 33 years ago. Although, actually, Spain’s 1973 entry, “Eres Tu”, was actually a hit over her in Jennie Foreigner territory.)
